Calling all finance experts!
Dunton and Wrestlingworth Schools Federation is looking for people with a finance skill set to join our friendly and active governing board. There is no requirement to have any current or prior connection to the schools.
The below description explains what we are looking for in terms of knowledge and skills and duties to be fulfilled:
Desired skills and knowledge
– Knowledge of economics and accounting
– Business management skills
– Analytical thinking skills
– Budget planning experience
Board Duties
– Part of finance committee, with a view to leading meetings and updating Full Governing Board (FGB) at each meeting (4 meetings per year of two hours).
– Attendance at FGB meetings (4 meetings per year of two hours).
– Review of school budgets, working with Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and bursar
– Drafts, with SLT, the pay policy
– Inputs to preparing draft budgets, annual planning and forecasts and financial reports to Central Bedfordshire Council (CBC) and other interested parties
– Oversight of income and expenditure, working closely with SLT and Personnel committee
