The Robins classroom is a purpose built area designed to meet the requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) Curriculum. The children enjoy playing and working in the bright practical environment.
The children follow the EYFS curriculum.
In Kingfishers the children move into Key Stage 1 where they stay for Years 1 and 2. The large classroom allows for a variety of activities carefully designed to deliver the National Curriculum.
The children have daily English and Mathematics lessons as well as topic lessons taught in blocks in the afternoons. The children also enjoy a weekly Music Lesson in their individual year groups with a specialist Teacher.
In Owls, the children start Key Stage 2 (Years 3 and 4).The children are encouraged to organise themselves and become more independent learners. They enjoy the many new challenges, as well as the many responsibilities, such as ringing the school bell, meeting and greeting visitors, playing music for Collective Worship and giving out hymn books. They are encouraged to think deeply and ask big questions! They work hard to meet the National Curriculum objectives and love moving onto the next stage in their learning!
They have daily Maths and English lessons and have weekly Spelling and tables tests.
They learn the knowledge and skills for Science, History and Geography in the afternoons through Topic. The children also enjoy a weekly Music Lesson in their individual year groups with a specialist Teacher. The final term is seen as preparation for the next stage of education, at Middle School.
