In our Reception Class, we warmly welcome children into a nurturing setting where we prioritise independence, confidence, and a love of learning. Our days are filled with “busy learning” sessions in a carefully planned environment, allowing children to develop their skills and knowledge in diverse and engaging ways.
We encourage exploration, curiosity, and discovery. Throughout the year, we learn about the seasons and various topics, adapting our curriculum to align with the children’s interests.
The children have access to outdoor learning throughout the day, enjoying activities such as riding the bikes on the playground, using the mud kitchen or building dens. This connection to nature enhances their learning experience and promotes physical activity.
Phonics is taught through the Bug Club phonics scheme, while Drawing Club fosters a passion for writing and creativity, enabling all children to thrive at their own pace. Our practical maths activities highlight the importance of mathematics in everyday life, making learning fun and relevant.
Creativity is a big part of our day; we love our woodwork area and enjoy baking whenever we can.
