Attendance

Our schools attendance target is 96%

It is very important that children attend school regularly, are on time and ready to learn. When children are absent they miss a wide range of learning opportunities and this impacts on their progress and attainment.

Illness and other absences

Should your child be too unwell to come to school please ensure you contact the school office by telephone by 9:30am on the first morning of absence. You must call to confirm your child’s absence each morning they will be off school.

If your child has been sick or had diarrhoea, they will need to stay away from school for 48 hours following the last episode.

If you are unsure whether to keep your child off or not, please contact the school office or check the following guidance: Should I keep my child off school guidance

If your child is absent for a reason other than illness, please contact the school office as soon as possible to confirm the reason for absence and when you expect them to return.

Holidays

Holidays and days off in term time will not be authorised.

If you have a reason why your child requires a day off school please contact the school office to request a ‘leave of absence’ form.

Most requested absences will not be authorised and parents may incur a fixed penalty notice.
