The Local Authority manages all of our school admissions and any application for a place at either of our schools should be made via CBC Admissions or by calling 0300 300 8037.
Our PAN (Published Admission Number) for both schools is 30.
Children will start their educational journey at Wrestlingworth C of E Infant School in our Reception Class known as Squirrels. They will continue at Wrestlingworth into Year 1 and then onto Year 2.
Applications for starting school open each September and the closing date is usually around the middle of January. Please refer to the CBC website for specific deadlines for school applications.
Once you have received confirmation that your child has a Reception place at Wrestlingworth (on National Offer Day in April) we will make contact with you early in the summer term. You will receive a welcome letter with details of your child’s school visit dates as well as an invitation to our new parent information evening. Later in the term, you will receive your new starter pack, which will give you lots more useful information. Your child will be invited to attend some school visit days in the summer term as well as attending our transition morning in July. The Reception teacher will arrange to visit your child at their preschool before the end of the summer term, if appropriate, and a home visit will also be arranged for early September. The Reception class usually begins school a few days later than the older children to give the teacher time to do all of the home visits before the children start school.
When your child is in Year 2 you will need to apply for a Year 3 place for them at Dunton Junior School. This can be done via the CBC admissions link above.
Our new 2026-2027 Determined Admissions criteria gives high priority for children that attend Wrestlingworth Infant School to get a place at Dunton Junior School.
There will be an opportunity for your Year 2 child to visit Dunton and meet their new teacher at our transition morning in July.
Children will stay at Dunton Junior School until they move onto Secondary School at the end of Year 6.
